For this cute couple, their love story began in high school after their rural schools consolidated. While they dated during those formative years of early high school, college life had led them down separate paths. However, as life often does, these two were brought back together shortly before Allison’s med school journey. Through the twists of life, Lance’s quiet strength perfectly complements Allison’s outspoken nature. Together they find joy in the quiet moments with their two mini goldendoodles, savoring the little moments of building a foundation together. Once Allison finished med school, the couple began planning to move home to Kansas. Thus, they decided to take the leap and mark the beginning of their new adventure, just for the two of them.

Finding the Perfect Place

With such a big move coming up, Allison and Lance came to us with no idea in particular. They wanted to find a destination that hit a couple of key points for them: somewhere intimate, unexpected, and nostalgic or educational. We got to know them and dug deep into their childhood hobbies. The things they enjoy doing together, their story. Finally, their perfect idea of a setting emerged. Chiefly, they needed a location where they could make a fresh memory and begin the rest of their lives together. After a few phone calls and some reminiscing, we discovered the groom’s deep love for childhood stargazing – a love he has never gotten to share with his fiancé.

Instead of choosing a traditional venue, Allison and Lance rented a private desert cabin through Airbnb that could sleep up to 12 guests. Even though their day was just the two of them, having that extra space made all the difference.

A Cabin Fit For Adventure

Set just outside Joshua Tree National Park, their desert cabin offered the perfect foundation. With space to relax, room to prepare, and a place to return to after a full day of exploring, it became the anchor point for an experience that felt grounded, personal, and completely their own. The home gave them room to settle in, lay out their details, and move through the day without feeling confined. It created a natural starting point for the morning and a place to return to at the end of the night – something that’s often overlooked but incredibly valuable when planning an adventure elopement. Rather than rushing between locations or getting ready in separate hotel rooms, everything felt anchored.

With our plan in place, the magical day finally arrives! At 2:30 PM anticipation builds as Allison and Lance begin their journey at The Dome, their AirBnB. Here, getting ready becomes a prelude to the magic that awaits. Their chosen “jeweled” wedding theme, a blend of vibrant and bold colors, sets the stage for an unconventional celebration. Lance, donned in a blue suit with a floral pink tie and pocket square is the picture of sophistication. Custom-engraved tie clips and cuff links emblazoned with their fur children’s photos complete his sophisticated look. Meanwhile, Allison is the picture of colorful elegance. She wears a lace top paired with a pink/mauve tulle skirt, embracing a playful yet timeless style. They shared a gorgeous First Look in the nearby fields, setting the stage for the day’s beauty to come. 

Our team for the day, photographer, videographer, officiant, in one car, the couple in another, we took off on a 40-minute drive, leading us to a gorgeous secluded picnic area for a ceremony and picnic. With a special use permit in hand, they exchange vows against the backdrop of Joshua Tree’s serene landscape. They had moments to share handwritten vows and memories they will cherish for a lifetime of adventures. After soaking in the beauty of Joshua Tree, we began a golden hour photo shoot at Keys Views. We captured the essence of their love in the warm hues of the setting sun before moving into their luxury picnic. Allison and Lance made themselves comfortable amidst a beautiful, jewel-toned picnic spread. It included blankets, cushions, champagne, charcuterie, and a delicious double chocolate cake.

A Celestial Celebration

Building up to their big finale, we headed to a unique guided stargazing and UFO experience. Picture a captivating scene: Allison and Lance under a canopy of stars, surrounded by the quiet beauty of Joshua Tree indulged in a stargazing experience like no other. Pausing, they took a moment to write beautiful letters they will lock away until their first anniversary.

Eventually, as the clock strikes 10:00 PM, the stargazing elopement in Joshua Tree comes to a close.
