Few places lend themselves to intimate weddings quite like a private mountain lodge, especially one perched high above the treetops with panoramic ridgeline views. For Rielly and Dylan, who wanted a celebration that allowed them to be fully present with their loved ones, this breathtaking Tennessee retreat became the perfect backdrop for their love story.
Nestled in the Smoky Mountains outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee, this mountaintop home offered a rare blend of privacy, luxury, and togetherness. With space for their entire guest list to stay on site, decks that opened to the horizon, and multiple indoor and outdoor gathering areas, it felt less like a rental and more like a private mountain estate created just for their wedding weekend.
It was here, surrounded by clouds, quiet ridgelines, and their closest people, that Rielly and Dylan began their forever.
A Love Story Written Across States & Seasons
Rielly and Dylan’s story began years before the mountains. They first met in middle school when introduced by a shared close friend, Wetherly. Life carried them in different directions until 2020, when a spontaneous road trip brought everything into focus.
What began as a quirky adventure filled with roadside attractions quickly turned into three weeks of constant conversation, shared laughter, and undeniable connection. By the end of that trip, it became clear they were meant to move through life side by side.
Neither Rielly nor Dylan wanted a large wedding. They knew they did not want to feel on display or pulled away from the people they loved. Instead, they envisioned a day where they could slow down, stay grounded, and truly enjoy the experience. A mountain micro-wedding gave them exactly that.
A Mountain Lodge Built for Togetherness
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and intentional. The lodge sits high above the treeline, offering uninterrupted Smoky Mountain views from nearly every angle. Wide decks invited people to linger with coffee in the morning and cocktails at sunset, while inside, polished wood interiors and oversized windows created warm gathering spaces.
Because the home accommodates over thirty overnight guests, everyone was able to stay together for the full experience. There was no rushing between locations and no sense of separation. Instead, the weekend unfolded naturally, with shared meals, quiet conversations, and moments of connection woven throughout.
This kind of setting is especially well-suited for couples planning an intimate destination wedding who want the convenience of everything all in one place.
A Day Filled With Intention, Beauty & Mountain Light
The wedding day began slowly and beautifully. Upstairs, Rielly spent the afternoon getting ready with her mom, sister, and a few close loved ones. Hair and makeup were provided by our amazing local partner, Summer Lynn Beauty, who created a soft, radiant look that felt effortless and true to Rielly’s style. The space filled with music, laughter, and that quiet excitement that builds as a wedding day begins to take shape.
Before the ceremony, Rielly and Dylan chose to share a private first look and exchange their personal vows away from the crowd. Framed by the mountains, they signed their ketubah with witnesses and took a few quiet moments together before welcoming their guests.
Their ceremony took place in front of the gazebo overlooking the mountains. EZ Elopements swooped in earlier in the day with pre-crafted florals and styling details, transforming the space to reflect the couple’s vision. Soft dusty blue, sage green, and cream tones layered with greenery, lanterns, and over a hundred rose petals lining the aisle. Additional fresh florals from Flower Moxie were woven into the gazebo and arranged throughout the dinner space to create a natural fullness.
Rielly and Dylan chose their best friend Wetherly, the friend who started it all, to officiate the ceremony. While the ceremony was deeply personal, our team supported behind the scenes. Zack assisted with setup, and drone coverage throughout the day, while standing by to provided guidance to the day-of officiant. Together, they ensured the ceremony flowed smoothly and photographed beautifully.
As guests arrived, the sound of live violin music filled the mountain air. John Tunstall, a talented local violinist, performed during the ceremony, adding an emotional, cinematic layer to an already stunning setting.
Golden Hour Magic & a Night Beneath the Stars
After the ceremony, guests made their way back toward the house for cocktails and appetizers while Rielly and Dylan stayed behind for Golden Hour portraits. This property truly shines in the evening light, with the mountains glowing softly as the sun dips below the ridgeline. It is an ideal environment for both photography and wedding film, offering expansive natural backdrops without ever leaving the property.
Dinner was catered by Gatlinburg Gourmet, who crafted a perfectly personalized buffet menu and handled everything from service to cleanup. Inside, long tables were set with coordinating linens, candles, and additional styling pieces the bride collected ahead of time. The result was warm, layered, and intimate. Nothing felt overly styled, yet every detail felt intentional.
Dinner took place, followed by a heart-shaped cake from local Bakery Gatlinburg Grind. As twilight deepened, the evening shifted into laughter, s’mores, and the unmistakable peace that comes from choosing a wedding day that feels like you.
A Team That Guided and Captured Every Moment
Throughout the day, lead photographer Elizabeth took on the dual role of photographer and day-of coordinator. With a calm presence and a well-paced approach, she guided the couple through the day, documenting as it unfolded. Alongside her was Josh from Epic Video, capturing cinematic footage of the day with sweeping movement and emotion. Our team ensures that nothing feels rushed or staged so the couple can remain fully present while we capture every meaningful moment.
