At the very end of a quiet country road in Jarrettsville, Maryland, our log cabin sits on a private hillside surrounded by farms and more than 12 acres of protected woodland. A winding path leads through towering poplar, cherry, and oak trees to the ceremony overlook — a handcrafted wooden platform softly lit by string lights and accented with candles, arches, and décor we style to match your colors.

If you’ve been dreaming of a small, intentional ceremony in nature with all the logistics handled for you… this is where that dream becomes very real.

This is our home - and also the heart of EZ Elopements.
We personally maintain the forest, oversee every event, and welcome you in as if it were your own place for the day as we host you, guide you, and take care of you throughout your experience.

The forest is just over 3 acres - surrounding our private property is farmlands and 12 additional acres of forest for that perfect ambiance of seclusion. While not currently for rent (although in the works), the log home does provide the only bathroom on the estate, and can be used upon request.

A large enough space of forest has been cleared to provide parking for up to 5 vehicles not including the couple's. There are special circumstances where additional parking may be provided, but must be discussed beforehand.

The guest parking area is purposefully located on the other side of the residence as the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Den, to provide the couple with privacy before their big moment.

The Bridal Suite / She-Shed is large enough to accommodate a hair stylist, makeup artist, one or two bridesmaids, and of course, the photographer to capture all of those special moments. The interior of the suite is covered in lavish off-white shiplap, with a unique handmade floral backdrop accent wall perfect for those amazing portrait shots. 

Feeling a bit jittery on your big day? Never fear, for there is a small collection of especially curated wines adorning one of the walls. While EZ Elopements does not sell alcohol, it has been gifted from time to time for those nervous couples to enjoy responsibly. 

A gorgeous floral chandelier hangs over the center of the suite, and a backlit makeup mirror situated perfectly for the stylist and makeup artists to flaunt over you. In addition to the ample lighting, three offset skylights amplify the suite with gorgeous natural light. 

Stocked with all the last minute amenities, including bobby pins, safety pins, ribbons, and a steam garment press for those last minute wrinkles, the suite is all inclusive for everything you will need on your big day!

Bridal Suite

Getting Ready Experience

Introducing our new bridal suite and grooms den, which was recently built in 2022 at the end of the private driveway to the log cabin! Due to space requirements, we have constructed two brand new facilities to fully immerse the you and your partner on your special day by providing uniquely crafted accommodations during your getting ready moments. Perfect for many photo opportunities, these isolated buildings capture the essence of the high-end atmosphere, and provide many amenities which can sometimes be forgotten!

The Groom’s Den / Man Cave is the picturesque manly retreat, equipped with a comfortable leather couch sitting across from a handmade oak bar. Covered from wall to wall with brown shiplap and a unique barn-wood accent wall behind the bar, it is the perfect place for an anxious groom to await their bride to be. While not nearly as large as the Bridal Suite, the groom's den has ample space to accommodate the groom, one or two guests, and the officiant, who will be going over the paperwork and adjusting their script according to your wishes.

Couples are welcome to bring drinks of their choice to add to a myriad of curated whiskeys & rums behind the bar, backlit with a led light to really impress the high-end bar atmosphere. Almost all of the stock from the bar has been donated via tips from previous clients to share with future couples. Of course, both the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Den are equipped with heat/air conditioning to offer reprieve and comfort from any weather situation.

Upon reaching the parking area, guests are drawn to a winding forest path which descends down the gradual sloping forest hillside.

At the overlook, a beautiful wooden platform is placed at the end of a pathway aisle.

A recently built gazebo is available on a case-by-case basis

Enjoy a short 4-minute walk through the woods to reach one of our prevalent ceremony locations overlooking the hillside and serene farmlands beyond.

about us & the team

• After EZ Elopements was founded on 7.7.17, within a few hours of Elizabeth & Zack said their I Dos as they eloped on a boat on Lake Union in Seattle, a full time and part time team of creatives and professionals was put together and trained to provide the unique experiences to other likeminded couples in the WA area, while ensuring detailed personalized experience and high quality photography and videography

• Since Elizabeth & Zack started their travels as they explore the world with and take care of other couples looking for a unique & special day, they began offering their private forest on the east coast (in MD) making Elizabeth a full time planner, coordinator, as well as the lead photographer for east coast, in MT + TX, and other unique destinations as the rest of the team focuses on our couples in WA, OR + beyond.

• Elizabeth & Zack often provide most all inclusive wedding experience personally along with most trusted team-members & local creatives, with Elizabeth leading in planning, coordination, and day of photography + decor & Zack officiating, setting up for your ceremony, piloting a drone & entertaining guests. We now have few part-time team-members in most states and abroad. They are based of the Private Forest May - Nov!

Yes, absolutely. Some couples choose to have a close friend or family member officiate their ceremony, and we fully support that. While Zack is an experienced and incredible officiant, if you bring your own officiant he will step into a coordination and support role instead-making sure your chosen officiant feels confident, prepared, and fully equipped. We provide guidance, timing cues, and tips to ensure the ceremony flows beautifully and photographs perfectly. We’re also happy to share one of our thoughtfully written ceremony scripts for you to use as-is or customize further and even take care of the official signing and filing of your paperwork, if desired.

You’ll need to obtain your marriage license through the Harford County Clerk’s Office, since our private forest is located in Harford County, Maryland. The license is valid for six months and becomes active 48 hours after issuance. The application process typically takes about 10 minutes, and Elizabeth will walk you through each step to make it simple and stress-free.
If you already have a license from another county or state-or prefer to legally marry closer to home-we can still make everything work smoothly. Just reach out and we’ll go over a few easy options together.
